Overview of Manual Call Point
Manual call points are devices that enable to raise an alarm manually during any emergency by breaking the glass in “BREAK-GLASS” type or by lifting the flip cover and pressing the resettable switch in “RESETTABLE-TYPE” call points.
Where should call points be installed?
Generally call points should be installed above 4.5 – 5 foot from the floor, near the exits and entrance of the premises. It should also be noted that the travelling distance from any point of the building to the nearest manual call point should not be more than 15 meters. Additional call point should be installed in locations that are flagged for high-risk.
How do Addressable Wireless Call Points work?
Manual call points are like simple switches that can be activated in the event of fire or any other emergency. Each device has a unique identification number and communicates the necessary information to the control panel when activated. The control panel further displays the location of activated device and sends necessary signals to activate the notification devices to alert or evacuate the personnel. Wireless call points use radio wave technology to transmit data and are powered using batteries.
